The Walking Dead: Melissa McBride is a ‘Rare Talent’ Says Andrew Lincoln [VIDEO]
She pulled off that 'look at the flowers' scene on "The Walking Dead" Season 4, Episode 14 "The Grove" like no one else could have - Melissa McBride, who plays Carol Peletier, received praises from none other than Andrew Lincoln. In a recent interview, he shared that Melissa is a 'rare talent.' The actress was nominated at Critics' Choice TV Awards.
"The Walking Dead" Season 5 episodes are currently being filmed and Andrew Lincoln talked to Gold Derby about the show and Melissa McBride. He was asked about Melissa getting recognition at the award shows as well as the way her character developed from season to season.
"It makes me so happy," said Andrew.
"It makes me more happy than getting recognition myself, because she's ... any actor that has acted with Melissa McBride knows they're in the company of - I won't say genius, but a uniqueness that is extraordinary, and incredibly captivating. I mean I came to this country to work with people of that quality."
He mentioned that Melissa has come a long way from Season 1 of the show.
"It's wonderful when you see talent, pure talent, being recognized in this way, and even more thrilling when critically it's recognized as well. The fans knew it quite some time ago, I think, but it's wonderful that she had the opportunity and had that incredible episode to show what she is more than capable of doing. She's a rare talent," added the actor.
Indeed, Melissa's character on "The Walking Dead" has evolved and needless to say, it is one complex character. It will be interesting to see her unleash her powers in the upcoming Season 5 episodes.
Andrew Lincoln said the first few episodes of "The Walking Dead" are astonishing and there are no holds barred.
"The Walking Dead" Season 5 episodes airs on AMC this October.
