Finally, Carl Grimes takes the centre stage in the upcoming "The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 9. In a new picture released by AMC, he is looking back despite Rick telling him not to after they left the prison.

"Don't look back" are the last words from "The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 8. This statement also became the headline of the poster for the second half of the season. However, Carl still looks back at all the mayhem at the prison and the losses including his sister - baby Judith. Yet, fans are speculating that she is still alive.

Rick Grimes got beat up in the prison war. He left the prison ruins in a terrible shape. Fans saw him limping out of the war zone with Carl. Rick's son will have to step up until his father is not out of the emotional and physical mess.

Comic book writer Robert Kirkman who also wrote "TWD" season 4 episode 9 said that this particular episode will be quite close to the comic book's storyline.

Rick and Carl Grimes leave the prison after the battle and go into a local store. There are walkers inside the store and Rick hits one of them in the head. In the promo, Rick lures the walker outside leaving Carl to shoot it. Later, they hide in a house where the former feels sick and takes a heavy dose of medicines.

Walkers start banging on the door, and this is when Carl takes the lead. He lures them away from the house which is shown in the sneak peek of "The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 9.

In the comics, Rick and Carl meet Michonne and it is expected that this would happen in the TV version as well.
