“The Walking Dead” Season 4: Post Mid-Season Finale Episodes will Feature “Dramatically Changed” Characters
The mid-season finale of AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead" was explosive in every sense. The mid- season finale, "Too Far Gone," concluded with the group splitting into small groups. The members of the prison had to flee in different directions after the prison was destroyed by the Governor.
Wet Paint reports that the second half of "The Walking Dead" season 4 will have "dramatically changed" characters.
The group is separated and nobody knows where the rest of the other members are. Will they ever reunite?
Team Rick will never be the same again.
"I think a lot of these characters are going to come out of this group of episodes dramatically changed from how they've been," said Robert Kirkman.
Robert also told Wet Paint that the mid-season finale episode was meant to be explosive.
"This is Rick's destiny clashing in with The Governor's" and co-executive producer Denise Huth agrees. "We were always building to this place where these two people really had to collide...I don't think he [The Governor] goes into the prison thinking 'I'm going to blow it to bits.' He wants the prison to be in one piece," said Scott Gimple about the mid-season finale episode.
Scott also mentioned that he wanted the tragedy to echo on various levels. People were extremely sad about Hershel Greene's death, but many also mourned the death of the Governor. There was sadness in his demise as well.
"It wasn't merely a tragic thing as far as Hershel dying, but it was a tragic thing for The Governor to do...and yet he's succumbing to it," says Scott.
What dramatic changes we can expect when "The Walking Dead" season 4 returns on February 9 on AMC?
Rick thinks that his baby Judith died during the prison attacks. He is hardened by this tragedy, but the good part is that he has his son, Carl by his side.
Talking about Carl, he is older now and can tackle and take down walkers. In the sneak peek of "The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 9, he teases not one but two biters.
