A "hopeful" ending for any "The Walking Dead" season sounds weird, isn't it? When it comes to "TWD" season finale, it has always been disastrous and sad. However, things will change this year, comic book writer and executive producer Robert Kirkman told TV Guide it will be better for the group by the time season 4 of "The Walking Dead" ends.

"The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 9 which airs on February 9, 2014 will primarily showcase Rick and Carl Grimes. Rick Grimes left the prison in a bad shape, he and the Governor had an ugly hand-to-hand fight. We also lost Hershel Greene and the prison. The other prison survivors were scattered after the nasty battle. The prison was overrun by walkers.

"We started the season pretty hopeful and pretty optimistic," said Robert Kirkman to TV Guide.

"We'll open our last half of the season pretty bleak and we'll move them to something a little more hopeful by the end," added Robert.

TV Guide ended the spoiler with a question. It asked about the rise of Alexandria. Is the "happy ending" linked to Alexandria?

Wetpaint shared comic book spoilers.

Scott Gimple (showrunner) mentioned that this particular season would be like a "remix" of the comics.

In the comic books, Rick and the others meet three new people. Rick and group join them on the road to Washington. They never reach Washington, but reach at a place called Alexandria Safe-Zone in Alexandria, Virginia. Probably, it is the "sanctuary."

In November, Norman Reedus chatted with Vulture while shooting the finale of "The Walking Dead" season 4. "It's a very ambitious episode; they went big with it," said Norman.

Andrew Lincoln talked to Yahoo TV, "There are two episodes that I absolutely adore in the back eight, one of which I think is going to be the most controversial episode that we've probably ever been involved in, and that's saying something. [Laughs.]"

It will be great to see a "hopeful" ending of "The Walking Dead" season 4 finale. What do you think?
