Resident crossbow expert at "The Walking Dead" and one hell of a hunk, Daryl Dixon might have a tough exterior, but he too has a heart that beats for others. He is an emotional person. When his brother, Merle Dixon died on the show, we saw him crying. However, new circumstances might take a heavy toll on Daryl.

The Governor's failed attempt to take over the resulted in the death of one of the nicest men in team prison - Hershel Greene. He was brutally beheaded by the one-eyed monster. The battle destroyed the prison and separated the group. Also, Rick told Daryl about Carol's exile. All these circumstances coupled with walkers can make anyone including Daryl insane.

"The Walking Dead" executive producer Gale Anne Hurd shared tiny teases with E! News about Daryl Dixon.

The crossbow dude has an emotional journey in front of him.

"Daryl had found a new family after the loss of his own brother, and he had become not only a valued and respected member, but someone who could actually joke around," said Gale.

"He was finally beginning to see the light at the end of a very dark and brutal tunnel, and now that's been ripped apart with the fall of the prison, with the banishment of Carol. We'll have to see how he copes with those twin tragedies," added the producer.

Daryl Dixon wasn't a part of season 4 mid-season premiere, "After," but he will be seen in episode 10 and he doesn't look in great shape.

In the sneak peek of "The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 10, "Inmates," Beth Greene tells Daryl that they should look for other people, but he is not responding and continues to stare at the fire.
