‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5, Episode 1: ‘The Biggest Action Sequence That We Have Ever Attempted’ [VIDEO]
Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger and fans have been waiting for the outcome. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and others are stuck inside the train car. "The Walking Dead" Season 5 will pick things up from Season 4 finale instalment. Lincoln talked to comic book writer and executive producer of the show Robert Kirkman about how the new Season is different.
"I think that this first episode is the strongest, most complete episode that we've done. It's full of action, the biggest action sequence that we've ever attempted. But it's also got one of the most incredible narrative scripts, and one of the coolest after credits coda," Lincoln told Kirkman at the Fox International Breakfast.
During the interview, Lincoln revealed a "huge mid-season finale" sequence.
When Kirkman asked what is different in the upcoming season.
"How is it different? There's zombies on sharks throwing snakes this year," Lincoln replied.
Kirkman reminded him not to reveal anything about "zombies on shark throwing snakes."
Lincoln joked that the sharks came from Daryl's underwear and later mentioned that actually crabs came from the Reedus' character's underwear.
Talking about "The Walking Dead" Season 5, showrunner Scott M. Gimple talked to AMCTV and he compared Season 4 to Season 5.
Gimple explained that Season 4's second part was all about the characters being separated after the prison destruction. He added that in the new Season the characters are "not that separated." However, Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), baby Judith, Tyreese (Chad Coleman) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) are not with the group.
Gimple stated that things will be quite "brutal" and it is going to be extremely difficult for the characters. However, they have each other now, which is a good sign.
"The Walking Dead" Season 5, episode 1 airs Sunday, October 12 on AMC.
