'The Walking Dead' Season 5: Norman Reedus Will Not Eat Any People Burgers
A food joint in London created the human flesh burger to celebrate "The Walking Dead" Season 5. The cast of the show was asked if they would consume something as bizarre as a burger that tastes like human flesh. Norman Reedus, who plays the iconic Daryl Dixon, said he will not eat the human flesh burger.
TMZ asked Norman Reedus and Emily Kinney (Beth Greene) about eating a burger that contains ingredients that tastes like human flesh.
"I wouldn't eat any people burgers," Norman Reedus said. Clearly, he is not ready to experiment and eat "The Walking Dead" burger. Emily Kinney also will not eat the burger.
Fox U.K. asked chef James Thomlinson and a London food artist - Miss Cakehead to create something unique for "The Walking Dead" Season 5. Thomlinson researched to come up with the perfect recipe. He studied the works of author William Seabrook.
Seabrook wrote in "Jungle Ways" that it "was like good, fully developed veal; not young, but not yet beef. It was very definitely like that, and it was not like any other meat I had ever tasted."
Thomlinson's burger is made bone marrow, pork and veal.
"They're really tasty, [but] it does taste different. It's not something that you are used to when you are putting a burger in your mouth really... It's not a very strong beefy flavor, which you expect. It's actually quite a fairly mild sort of taste, but the combination of the veal and pork together in a mince just gives you a sensation that it's not a meat that you have tried before. Which is what I was trying to go for basically with the simulation of human flesh."
"The Walking Dead" Season 5 is set to air from Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 on AMC.
