Season 4 of "The Walking Dead"showed how the survivors fought intense battles with situations and they made some really tough choices. In the last season, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) evolved into a ruthless character. He bit Joe's neck in the season finale and brutally killed another marauder who tried to rape Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs). Now, what will be the theme of "The Walking Dead" season 5? Survival?

The new poster released by AMC shows a tired yet determined Rick Grimes crouching with a gun in his hands and "Survive" scribbled above. It looks like survival is going to be a vital aspect of the upcoming season.

Comic book writer and executive producer Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott Gimple talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the theme of "The Walking Dead" season 5.

"Rick said, and before that Robert said it in the comics: Are we too far gone to be people anymore, to actually be human beings, to be able to relate to one another on an emotional level, to be able to live a real humanistic and emotional life - are we too far gone?" said Scott.

Robert Kirkman mentioned that season 4 ended on a cliff-hanger. "The Walking Dead" will return to deal with Terminus in a big way in season 5.

"We're also going to be dealing with a more capable and prepared Rick Grimes coming out of what he's experienced in this episode. He's going to go into another really awesome direction," said Robert.

Also, Robert told The Hollywood Reporter that "The Walking Dead" season 5 will be remix of comic books, just like season 4.

Wetpaint noted in a post that season 4 of "The Walking Dead" remixed various scenes like how Hershel was beheaded rather than another character.

It has to be seen how "The Walking Dead" bosses are going to club season 5 and "TWD" comics.

"The Walking Dead" season 5 airs this October 2014 on AMC.
