Showrunner Scott M. Gimple talked to Entertainment Weekly about the new characters in “The Walking Dead” Season 6. Wever as Cloyd becomes a key character in Alexandria after Pete’s death. In “The Walking Dead” comic book, Cloyd plays a key role as a surgeon when a major character is critically injured. Gimple teased that this injury may or may not be a part of the TV show.
Another character to join the AMC show is Carter portrayed by Embry. Gimple stated that the character Carter is an amalgamation of different characters from the comic book.
“Ethan plays a combo of a few characters that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters,” Gimple said. Carter has been a part of Alexandria for a long time, but he has been quite busy all this time.
In the “The Walking Dead” Season 6 trailer, Carter could be seen as talking to the community members, he wants them to go against Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). Season 5 finale episode of the show saw Rick killing Pete in front of the people of Alexandria. Now, the Alexandrians are scared of him.
“The Walking Dead” Season 6 will pick things up from last season’s finale instalment when Morgan witnessed the killing of Pete. It is expected that he would question Rick’s action because according to Morgan, they don’t kill a human being.
Apart from these two character, Corey Hawking would be seen playing Heath from the comic book. He is a supply runner in Alexandria.
“The Walking Dead” Season 6 premieres on Oct. 11 on AMC in the U.S. Stay tuned for more spoilers.
