‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6B spoilers: Showrunner promises larger world, tragedy and change
New promo images for “The Walking Dead” season 6B has provided an interesting glimpse of a larger world for beloved characters and a hint of what fans can look forward to in the upcoming season.
AMC has released the full panel of the series’ midseason 6 promo images in its official Facebook page, which contained snapshots of new locations, a hand clutching a rosary, two hands locked in a firm grip, among others. The post was left uncaptioned in the social media site, although the collage of pictures invited fans to look forward to the series’ return in February.
“The Walking Dead” showrunner Scott Gimple said in a statement that the new promo images has provided fans a quick look of the “new world” that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and other characters will encounter in season 6B, Vanity Fair reported. “This image gives a look at tiny pieces of a larger world our group is about to discover. In the new world, they’ll find hope, possibility, tragedy and the terrifying cost of change, Gimple stated.
One of the promo images also featured what appeared to be a walker wearing a necklace and a wedding ring. According to Vanity Fair, the said image suggest that Deana played by Tovah Feldshuh, has turned into a walker and would likely be one of the zombies who will attack Rick and the gang. Meanwhile, the photo of the two hands in the promo images could likely be a shot of Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) holding on to each other, Vanity Fair stated. This was shown in the video teaser previously released for “The Walking Dead” season 6B premiere episode.
The promo image of the hand holding a rosary could also be a hint of the new character set to join the upcoming new season of “The Walking Dead.” According to MTV, the said photo suggests that the cross belongs to the character Paul “Jesus” Monroe, to be played by Tom Payne. In Robert Kirkman’s comic books, the character is a key member of the Hilltop Colony and could pave the way for Rick and his gang’s introduction to the colony and eventually to the villain Negan, to be played by James Dean Morgan.
The other promo images in AMC’s “The Walking Dead” season 6B teaser collage also showed shots of new locations such as a photo of the bottom of a large satellite dish and an abandoned RV in what appeared to be a highway. The photo panel also featured Morgan (Lennie James) on horseback and Rick with a scar underneath his eye.
“The Walking Dead” season 6B returns on Feb. 14 in the US on AMC.
