Norman Reedus who plays the character of Daryl Dixon in the popular zombie series "The Walking Dead" has not died. Reedus debunked his death hoax, which said that he died in a car crash, by constantly updating his status on Twitter. He shared a photo of himself from "The Walking Dead" where he could be seen in the back of a broken-down car. More than a thousand people shared the picture on Sunday.

The news of Reedus' fake death went rampant on Twitter and Facebook on May 30. The post said "Reedus killed in a car crash." A Facebook page called 'RIP Norman Reedus,' was created and its about section reads (reported by Media Mass): "At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (May 31, 2014), our beloved actor Norman Reedus passed away. Norman Reedus was born on January 6, 1969 in Hollywood. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

The report of Reedus' death hoax sent a bout of frenzy amongst his fans and many of them were questioning the validity of the news of his death. Reedus made fun of the hoax by posting a photo of a car on his Instagram account.

However, this is not the first time that Reedus has become a victim to hoaxes. A few months ago, a hoax circulated saying that Reedus has been fired from "The Walking Dead," reported Epoch Times.

Interestingly, on the day when Reedus' death hoax went viral he had appeared on Variety Studio with "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul reported WetPaint.

Meanwhile, Paul said during his appearance at Critics Choice awards his wish to be re-casted as Jesse Pinkman in "Better Call Saul."

"[I'll be in it] if they'll have me. It's a prequel, so it'd be nice to play Jesse Pinkman again in his happier times. I think it's going to be great. I went into the writer's room a few weeks back and just hung out with everybody there.," said Paul to Entertainment Wise.
