Every bit of the enchantment and enthusiasm of the past, present and future of Disney entertainment came together once again this summer at the D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Held August 9 - 11, 2013 at the Anaheim Convention Center, brought all the wonderful worlds of Disney together under one roof for three days of exciting presentations, behind-the-scenes panels, sneak peeks, screenings, dazzling pavilions and much more from Disney Parks, The Walt Disney Studios Disney Consumer Products, Disney Interactive and Disney's Media Networks including ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel and Radio Disney.

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced during the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony that the next Ultimate Disney Fan Event will take place in 2015!

In a presentation shimmering with star power, Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn introduced an exciting new slate of Disney live-action films certain to be blockbusters in the coming years. Joining him on stage were Disney Live Action Production President Sean Bailey, Marvel Studios President and Producer Kevin Feige, and a bevy of A-list stars and Hollywood's hottest.

Kicking off the star-studded event was Marvel's Kevin Feige. The self-professed Disney fan gave the capacity crowd its first looks at three exciting new films; Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Here's a look at a few of the top highlights from the three-day event:

From cast announcements to exclusive first looks, details about upcoming films - Into the Woods, The Pirate Fairy, Inside Out, Zootopia (working title) and more - were released. One of the biggest moments of the weekend was Angelina Jolie's surprise appearance to discuss 2014's Maleficent.

Disney Interactive revealed the sixth Disney Infinity play set, Toy Story in Space, which will be released in October. New Toy Box characters were also unveiled: Jack Skellington, Rapunzel, Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope, Phineas and Agent P, Anna and Else from Walt Disney Animation Studios' Frozen, and the leader of the pack, Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey.

Disney Store showcased seven new collections at the D23 Expo, including the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, Introducing Mickey & Minnie, Art of Ariel, The Art of Steamboat Willie Redux, The Nightmare Before Christmas 20th Anniversary Collection and new products featuring favorite Disney·Pixar and Frozen characters.

During the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts honored some of the talented individuals who have helped shape Disney parks around the world. Imagineers past and present shared their memories and exclusive content through a number of special presentations, and Disney Legend Tony Baxter was honored with a window on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland park.

Closing the show were actors B.J. Novak and Jason Schwartzman, who joined Sean to talk about Saving Mr. Banks, the fascinating new film based on the making of Mary Poppins. The two actors play Robert and Richard Sherman, respectively, the Academy Award-winning songwriters behind the classic Disney film's unforgettable songs. The two also performed "Let's Go Fly A Kite" from Mary Poppins. As a special treat Richard M. Sherman himself appeared from behind the curtain. The Disney Legend brought the crowd to its feet and lit up the stage as he joined B.J. and Jason in the impromptu rendition of the wonderful song. As reported by thewaltdisneycompany.com
