FNArena has added another video to its Investors Education section on the website. In this educational video, ATW's Jerry Simmons suggests investors should carefully watch copper and AUD/USD to anticipate what is going to happen with equities.

As long as the USD Index remains below 75 on a weekly closing basis, the underlying trend remains negative, explains Simmons. This is an important observation as the Index has been recovering recently and this has created uncertainty and headwinds for commodities and risk assets in general.

As far as EUR/USD goes, 1.4318 needs to be broken before we can start talking about a key reversal in trend, he explains. More important might be what is going to happen with AUD/USD. Simmons believes it needs to break above 1.06 to mark a sustainable rally higher. If, however, AUD/USD decides to head lower instead, this will have an effect on global equities, he suggests.

Similarly, copper tends to lead and a breakdown below US$3.99-3.94/lb would send copper lower, argues Simmons. Under such a scenario equities should follow.
