Britney Spears carries a silver platter of scones and does a British accent as part of a surprise for her British fan.

The 32-year-old singer goes undercover as a waitress at London's Savoy Hotel to meet her fan James Colbourn for the Christmas special of ITV's Surprise Surprise.

For this special episode of the show, host Holly Willoughby arranged for Spears to meet James after her sister Sadie Colbourn nominated him for his unwavering support for her and her twin sons George and Riley.

James was there to support Sadie when she gave birth to her twins at 26 weeks. Even after they were diagnosed with cerebral palsy a year later, "(h)e gave up his spare time and cared for the boys as if they were his own," according to Sadie.

"I could not have done it without him."

James and Sadie were brought to London from their hometown in Ipswich through a first-class train ride, where co-host Olly Murs announced that they will be having their afternoon high tea at the Savoy Hotel.

What he did not know is that a bigger surprise is waiting for him at the hotel.

Meanwhile, Britney is decked out as the hotel's waitress and she had a senior waitstaff teach her how to properly hold the silver platter. Once ready, she announces that "it's time for some British scones" in a good attempt to copy the British accent.

James "could not believe it" when he saw Britney, his all-time favourite singer serving them scones.

"She was so sweet, so darling, so down to earth," he says of Britney after the meet-and-greet. "I had the best day ever. I can't imagine how the next Christmas is gonna beat this one."

A source told The Daily Mirror that even after she was through promoting her latest single "Work B**ch" in London, Britney did not hesitate flying back to surprise her biggest fan.

The source says, "Production staff were stunned when she admitted she actually used to watch the show - and loved Cilla," referring to the show's original host Cilla Black.
