‘Watch Dogs 2’ update 1.13 includes Showdown mode and more
Ubisoft has launched “Watch Dogs 2” update 1.13 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is known as the biggest free major update the game has received. The update includes several features such as a new multiplayer mode, multiplayer racing, weapons and more.
The new multiplayer mode added in the game is called Showdown, a 2v2 PvP mode. Players will have the option to play with friends or with random people through matchmaking. Showdown will feature three types of objectives, which include Steal the HDD, Doom-load and Erase/Protect the Servers in 15 different locations.
Ubisoft also included multiplayer support for drones, motocross and eKart races. It added leaderboards for each type so players can finally compete for end-game season rewards.
The update also allows players to hack armoured loot trucks in the open world, allowing them to trigger an event where they have to fight large waves of police. Upon fending off the authorities, the game will give the survivor a significant reward.
Aside from the additional contents and features, the update also improved the game and fixed some of the bugs currently present. According to the “Watch Dogs 2” official site, the complete patch notes for update 1.13 include the following:
- New Showdown PvP mode: Test your skills against other players in 3 competitive matches: Steal the HDD; Doomload, a King of the Hill-style match; and Erase/Protect the Server. With 15maps available, you’ll have to bust all skills you have learned during your game experience.
- Online multiplayer races: Race against the clock in time trials races with eKarts, motorbikes or drones!
- A new nonlethal weapon, new outfits and much more!
'Watch Dogs 2' DLC: 'No Compromise'
Ubisoft also released the “No Compromise” downloadable content (DLC), which focuses on how a new DedSec operation goes wrong after the Russian Mafia gets involved. The latest DLC includes the following:
- Moscow Gambit DedSec Operation
- 6 single player time trials with new leaderboards
- Police, fireman, and paramedic themed clothing, vehicles, and unique behaviors
- Two additional non-lethal weapons, the Air Shotgun and the Sniper Stun Rifle.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft previously announced on its roadmap for “Watch Dogs 2” that it will include a four-player co-op for free sometime before or on June. It will allow four players to explore the city and do activities together.
