WATCH! 'Fred' Star Lucas Cruikshank Comes Out as a Gay in Video Announcement [VIDEO and PHOTOS]
All the female fans of Nickelodeon's "Fred," here is a shocker. Lucas Cruikshank, star of Nickelodeon's "Fred," has declared on his YouTube channel that he is a gay. The 19-year-old posted the confessional video Tuesday where he tells his fans that his family and friends are already aware about his sexuality for almost 3 years now, but he never felt the need to announce it on Internet.
"I'm gay. It's so weird saying it on camera," Lucas said, adding a little humor to it, "How come you didn't have to make a video saying you're straight?"
"My family and friends have known for, like, three years," he said in the video. "I just haven't felt the need to announce it on the Internet."
He told his fans that the declaration should not come as a shock to them as most of his friends do know about it.
"When you first met me, did you know I was gay?" he asked his close friend Jennifer Veal, to which she responds, "Yeah."
After the announcement, his fans on Twitter came out in his support, telling him how proud they are of his declaration. He also got "proud of you" tweet from gay icon Cher and an excited Lucas posted a picture of that message.
"THIS IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT CHER DM'ING ME TODAY," Lucas tweeted an excited picture of him.
