Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will try to nab their first win of the Governor's Cup against the Meralco Bolts, who are expected to come all out following one-point heartbreak at the hands of the Red Bull Barako Bull on Sunday.

Ginebra enters the new conference with high expectations after keeping their core intact, and at the same time, acquiring high-flying big man Japeth Aguilar at the end of the Commissioner's Cup.

However, Ginebra found out right away that winning isn't easy at all, especially against an equally loaded sister team Petron Blaze. Against Petron, Mark Caguiao and import Dior Lowhorn kept Ginebra ahead at the break but could not contain the hot-shooting Marcio Lassiter and the hot-shooting Blaze in the second half.

Lassiter finished with 23 points while Blaze import Elijah Milsap racked up 24 points and 9 rebounds in 43 minutes of action. Ginebra's import had 29 points and Caguiao finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds in the loss.

Meanwhile, the Bolts are still aching to erase the pain of their 89-90 loss to the Barako Bull Energy Cola last week. Eman Monfort exploded for 22 points along with seven rebounds while import Michael Singletary had 28 points and 14 rebounds for the Barako Bull.

Import Mario West chalked up with 33 points and 9 rebounds and Reynel Hugnatan delivered 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Bolts, who missed the service of All-Star swingman Mac Cardona.

Saturday's battle between Ginebra and Meralco is expected to be explosive with both teams leaning on their key stars. Aguilar is scheduled to make his much awaited Ginebra debut but Meralco possesses enough beef to neutralize the opposing team's height advantage.
