London rivals Chelsea FC and Fulham FC will be slugging it out on gameweek 5 of the English Premier League.

Chelsea has just received a shocking 2-1 defeat from FC Basel, on home soil, in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Blues had more chances at goal but failed to capitalise. Speaking with chealseafc.com, defender Gary Cahill said that they had themselves to blame for not taking their game notches higher.

"We gave them a bit too much room all over the pitch but first half, we looked like we were in control of the game. In the second half we didn't quite step it up that level and we paid the price for it," said Cahill.

"We were in control at 1-0 up, we knew we could go up a level. I'm repeating myself but we didn't do that and that's what cost us the game."

The England national knows that they have to assess their performance against the Swiss team and see to it that it will not be repeated as they host Fulham on Saturday.

"You can always do better, you can always analyse goals and have a look, definitely. The back four, goalkeepers, individuals. We'll have a look at that," he added.

"It's not a disaster but it's not ideal. A club like this wants to win the majority of games it plays. That's the expectation. It's a blow but it's not the be all and end all."

"We need to win our next game now, as simple as that. The manager will stress that. We've got the squad to do it, we need to go on now and get back to winning ways on Saturday."

With no major injuries reported, Blues boss Jose Mourinho will have the luxury of fielding a line-up that could be very much capable to turn the tides around.

Fulham, who are currently occupying the 14th place, will be looking to improve their record to keep them away from the relegation zone.

Despite their position, Martin Jol believes that his team can come home with a victory because of their previous performances at Stamford Bridge and knows what the West London derby means to the Fulham faithfuls.

"I have to put it in the minds of my players that we had good results [there]," Jol told fulhamfc.com.

"I don't know what that means to have good results in the away matches against them but we still know the way we played against them so maybe that will help."

"We're in the Fulham area with Chelsea and their stadium is in the Fulham area so that's why it's a big and important derby. If you look at the support we always get at Chelsea from our away fans, it's terrific."

"They changed managers, although he [Mourinho] plays almost a similar system now to Rafa Benitez. Before he played a different system in a 4-3-3."

"He changed it a bit so that's different but we're quite confident."
