Paris Saint-Germain FC (PSG) will go head-to-head with Olympiacos FC on Tuesday for their first fixture in the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League.

Backed by the Qatar Investment Authority, PSG immediately became on of the richest club in France which translated to success.

With the likes of Zlatan IBrahimovic and Thiago Silva in their roster, they won the 2012/13 Ligue 1 and made it to the semi-finals of the 2012/13 season of Champions League

Their latest signing, Edinson Cavani, was worth €64 million, from Napoli.

As strong as they may seem on paper, recently appointed manager Laurent Blanc remains levelheaded and treats each game as important as any other, hence, he does not underestimate Olympiacos.

"Every match is different but our aims remain the same - to win." Blanc told uefa.com.

"Their fans will create a hot atmosphere. I remember them from when I came here with Bordeaux and also during my playing days. We will stick to our natural game, retaining possession regardless of what tactics Olympiacos adopt. If we keep the ball, we minimise the risk of conceding."

Defender Alex and midfielder Javier Pastore are absentees because of injuries.

Meanwhile, Olympiacos just came from a 4-0 crushing win against Skoda Xanthi FC in their domestic league.

The Greek side is still undefeated, with Kostas Mitroglou scoring a hat-trick in each of their last two league games.

Kokkini boss Michel has no plans of changing his team's game plan coming into the game as he is confident that his players can deliver despite the odds.

"We won't change our tactics from game to game because our team has been built to play a certain way. It's about being strong at both ends of the pitch. Our style of play has yielded some impressive results on the domestic front and we hope to carry that form into Europe." Said Michel.

"My players have the necessary experience to cope with such encounters. This is a match for glory and they need to channel their emotions in the best possible way. They are motivated, ambitious and can't wait to start. It will be my first experiencing of coaching in the Champions League and I have faith in my players' abilities. We respect and admire PSG but we always go out to win. Football has taught me that he who plays for a draw invites a defeat."

Gaëtan Bong and Leandro Salino will not be joining the festivities due to injuries.
