The final four players in the 2013 Shanghai Masters battle is on Saturday, Oct 12, for a place in the championship of the ATP event at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center in the Minhang Disctrict in Shanghai, China.

If Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Juan Del Potro do not bring their A-game, the tennis world will be seeing another tournament final between rivals and the two best tennis players in the world in Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

The latter pair has already met in previous two finals just recently in 2013. Nadal defeated Djokovic, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, in the U.S. Open in August, and the Serbian returned the favor with a 6-3, 6-4, win in the China Open in early October.

Tsonga from France defeated Germany’s Florian Mayer, 6-3, 6-2, in the quarterfinals to set-up the semis date with Djokovic who beat upset-minded Gael Monfils, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-4, in his own quarters match.

Djokovic and Tsonga have met fifteen times in their career, and expectedly, Djokovic holds the edge, 10-5 all-time.

Meanwhile in the other last eight matches, Del Potro easily disposed of Nicolas Almagro of Spain in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, and Nadal of Spain dispatched Stansislas Wawrinka in two contrasting sets, 7-6 (10), 6-1.

Del Potro from Argentina has won only three matches in 11 meetings against Nadal, who is currently the number one ranked player in the world.
