The FIBA Asia Championship 2013 will soon come to an end, but not before the Philippines and Iran bring the house down for a surefire gold-medal match for all the ages on Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

After two weeks of intense basketball actions, it all comes down to this: a championship game between the host country and the continent's perennial hoops juggernaut.

The Philippines, fresh from punching their way to first FIBA World Cup stint since 1978 following an emotional 86-79 semifinal win over South Korea, will gun for all the marbles against an Iranian squad that has been super dominant throughout the entire tournament in Manila.

On the other hand, the Iranian will seek to reclaim the title they lost two years ago in Wuhan when they were stunned by Jordan in the quarterfinal round. Hamed Haddadi and the rest of the Iranian basketball team have obliterated every opponent with relative ease, but they could be in for a tough outing against the Filipinos and 20,000 fans expected to pack into the stadium.

The Philippines-Iran showdown is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm (Perth time) after Chinese Taipei and South Korea contest for the bronze medal and the last Asian qualifier berth in next year's World Cup at 5:00 pm.
