Serena Williams recently channeled the superhero in her after she stopped a man who took her phone. An exclusive clip of Serena as she ran out of the door to confront the man before she recovered her phone was recently shared on social media.

In the video that ABC News shared on Twitter, Serena was seen making her way as fast as she could in the crowded restaurant. As soon as she reached the alleged phone thief, she confronted the man before hurriedly returning to the restaurant after recovering her phone.

Meanwhile, police has called on Serena to lodge a formal complaint about the recent unpleasant incident that took place while the American tennis superstar was dining with a friend in a Chinese restaurant. Serena recently revealed on Facebook how she ran after a thief, who tried to steal her phone.

While it is courageous act for Serena to go after the thief to recover her phone, San Francisco Police Officer Grace Gatpandan told The Associated Press that they do not encourage victims to go after their perpetrators for safety purposes. Ms Gatpandan stressed that those kinds of persons are dangerous.

“The thing with cellphone snatchers is you don’t know who you’re dealing with,” Ms Gatpandan said. “You don’t know if they’re a serial thief, you don’t know if they’re armed.”

If Ms Gatpandan, however, added that they would like to find out the identity of the phone thief. The report said that the police department would like to find out if the perpetrator is a serial phone thief.

As Serena described in her Facebook post, the surveillance camera at the said restaurant saw the 21-grand slam tennis champion going after the man who took her phone that was places at a nearby chair. Serena confronted the man on the sidewalk to get her phone back. It was reportedly the first time that such incident took place at the said Chinese restaurant.
