Watch World's Tallest Man Tie the Knot With a 5'9" Bride
Sultan Kosen, the world's tallest man at 8'3" is officially married to a 5'9" bride, Merve Dibo. The 31-year-old Guinness World Records world holder held his wedding in Mardin, Turkey with his wife proclaiming to everyone that she found the love of her life in Sultan.
It was in 2009 when Kosen told the Guinness World Records that he has high hopes that landing such a title can help him find someone to love in the romantic level. He said then that he dreams of getting married someday, HuffingtonPost stated.
The wedding suit of the record holder was customized which used about 29 feet of cloth along with his shoes, according to Metro News.
Kosen's growth stopped when he was about 2.51 metres high just last year but this did not stop him from marrying someone way smaller than him. As a matter of fact, his bride is already a tall woman standing at 5'9" but she still does not reach about two thirds of Kosen's total height.
It could not be denied that it was certainly tough for someone as outrageously tall as Kosen to find someone suitable in terms of size. But we're guessing that this time around, love proves to conquer all boundaries including a difference in height.
It was in 2009 when Kosen replaced Bao Xishun of China for holding the throne of the world's tallest man for the Guinness World Records. Xishun's height is at 2.36 metres. Since then, Kosen lived the life of a celebrity especially within Turkey. His wedding ceremony was attended by a lot of prominent personalities from celebrities to politicians.
His height which he got from a disorder called Pituitary Gigantism is something that he found difficult to accept especially with a lot still teasing him about it. But above it all, he feels most proud for being that tall as he is right now.
Even for the world's tallest man, dreams do really come true!
