'Wayward Pines' season 2 spoilers: Latest photos of new set; 5 things that are definitely happening this season

“Wayward Pines” Season 2 is currently in development and fans are getting more excited, especially after FOX recently featured new pictures of the set. Here are five things that the audience will surely find in the upcoming season.

1. Djimon Hounsou

The actor recently shared a photo of himself on the set of “Wayward Pines” Season 2. Hounsou will play C.J. Mitchum, a town historian who creates a special link between the previous world where human beings freely lived in and the current situation at Wayward Pines, threatened by Abbies and the dying human race.

2. The First Generation

In the next season, the young First Generation will take over the town and take matters seriously. The plot will largely involve a brewing revolution between the current rulers and town citizens. There will expectedly be more bloodshed and violence as the town residents uncover more secrets and the Abbies continue to pose danger on their existence.

3. Returning cast members

TVLine notes that some of the characters who will reprise their roles in the new season include Megan Fisher (Hope Davis) and Jason Higgins (Tom Stevens). Kate (Carla Gugino), Charlie (Charlie Tahan) and Pam (Melissa Leo) will also return soon in limited appearances.

4. New cast members and more

Some of the new additions and appearing actors in “Wayward Pines” Season 2 include lead Jason Patric, Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, Kacey Rohl, Terrence Howard, Toby Jones, Shannyn Sossamon and Tim Griffin. Patric will play the role of Dr. Theo Yedlin, who finds himself in the middle of the developing rebellion.

5. More drama and thrills

Season 2 is expected to be more thrilling and provide the same chills as the original, with author Blake Crouch and executive producer M. Night Shyamalan at the helm of the series. There will be 10 episodes that will determine whether the First Generation will stay in power and how the town will deal with the threats surrounding their town. The set has been enhanced, based on recent photos, to ensure that the series continue to meet fan expectations.
