“We grew apart”: LeAnn Rimes said explaining why she cheated on her husband
Singer LeAnne Rimes claims her marriage with Dean “wasn’t fulfilling either of us”
She was once considered America's Sweetheart for bringing good country music to her fans. But not until LeAnn Rimes admitted that was cheating on her husband, Dean Sheremet.
Her millions of fans were not prepared for what she has become to them and were shocked to find out that Rimes would enter into a troublesome and controversial affair, with TV actor, and hunk, Eddie Cibrian.
The NY Daily News said the country singer told Shape magazine that their marriage was ‘great’. But it wasn’t great enough, as she was compelled to look in another direction.
"My relationship with Dean was great, but ultimately it wasn't a fulfilling marriage for either of us,” Rimes was quoted by NY Daily News as sharing with Shape magazine, on how their marriage has failed both of them.
Rimes blamed it on the commitment she made with Dean, too early in life.
“We got married so young: I was 19 and he was 21, so as we got older, we grew apart," the singer explained, according to NY Daily News.
The 28-year-old singer admitted in the magazine’s October issue that her affair with Cibrian began while they were filming for “Lifetime” (2008)
"I understand why people are disappointed in me, especially since I grew up as America's Sweetheart," Rimes readily conceded defeat.
She admitted hating herself for a while, even getting depressed when her fans found out about her affair. But she was quick to point out that what happened to her could happen to anyone in any relationship.
"I think any relationship is hard to get out of, and I don't think the way I did it was right," Rimes said.
Rimes has been reported moving in with Cibrian and his two sons, Mason, 7, and Jake, 3.
