Weekend's Top Movies: The Butler, Insidious 2, The Family [Watch Trailers]
This weekend (September 13-15, 2013) is packed with awesome movie lineup that moviegoers find it hard to choose which one to check out first. But blame it on the Friday the 13th fever, many people are in the mood for horror and made James Wan's Insidous: Chapter 2 on the top of this weekend's top movies.
Meanwhile, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer's off-beat action comedy "The Family" came in a second place in its opening weekend with $14.5 million. The sci-fi thriller "Riddick" came in the third place, earning $7 million.

1. Insidious: Chapter 2 - With an opening of $41 Million, director Wan's supernatural horror film is the movie to beat and this year's scariest film so far. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne are reprising their roles from their first Insidious film back in 2011 when they play Josh and Renai Lambert. This time they will be playing as husband and wife who will uncover secrets that makes them connected to the spirit world.
2. The Family - Directed by Luc Besson, "The Family" is an English-language French crime comedy film that follows a mafia family under the witness protection program. Based on the novel Malavita, this film was released in September 13, 2013, the same day of the film's premiere.
3. Riddick -The film is the third installment in the "The Chronicles of Riddick" film series and is produced and starred by Vin Diesel. Directed and written by David Twohy, 'Riddick" was released on September 6, 2013 in the US and as of September 15, the film has grossed $31, 280,000 in North America and opened to #1 in its first weekend, with $19,030,375.
4. The Butler - Directed by Lee Daniels, "The Butler" is an American historical drama film written by Danny Strong and features an ensemble cast that includes Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker. The film was inspired by the real-life of Eugene Allen, a White House butler who witnessed all the notable events of the 20th century.
5. We're The Millers - A comedy film directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber that stars Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts, Will Poulter and Jennifer Aniston. Aniston plays Sarah, a stipper who was hired by David (Sudeikis character) to pose as his wife as he tries to smuggle marijuana from Mexico in order to pay his debt.
