The 2011 American Music Awards did not end up as elegant as the Grammys or the quirky edge of the MTV Video Music Awards. It fell in between the two but it certainly has very funny moments that you would at the same time consider as too weird.

The ceremony for this year was filled with a lot of odd sights straight from LA where it was broadcasted. These weird moments were enough to make you highly interested with the AMAs even if it turned out to be a bit bloated for an event that lasted three hours.

Just when she has already won two awards before receiving her third for the night, it was outrageous to see her sport this look as if it has just been announced that the world will end by 2012, for sure.

She even said "Oh my God" six times.

Nicki Minaj's Speaker Behind

The opening performance of the show by Nicki Minaj with David Guetta was filled with a lot of your attention drawn for sure to the design of Minaj's outfit. Yes, the faux amplification on her chest and on her behind.

Katy Perry's Pink Scheme

This was one wacky outfit that Katy Perry sported of all her performances. With its bubble gum colour theme, it will remind you of Judy Jetson. It was that weird!

Justin Bieber in Cheetah Leggings

It was more weird than cute to see Bieber bopping on stage with LMFAO wearing a pair of cheetah printed leggings.

David Hasselhoff and the Smiley Boxers

And then, of course, nothing can be weirder than have David Hasselhoff come onstage wearing smiley face designed boxers with the LMFAO guys.
