‘Westworld’ star Ed Harris confirms he will be back as the Man in Black in season 2
“Westworld” season 2 is set to return into the small screens in 2018 and Ed Harris (Man in Black) is sure to be part of it. Fans will be delighted to know that the actor has confirmed that he will be back to reprise his role in the second season of “Westworld.”
Harris has shared that he and show creators Jonah Nolan and Lisa Joy have already discussed “Westworld” season 2 and that he will still be part of it. He has also revealed that the upcoming season will be composed of 10 episodes.
"I was just talking to Jonah Nolan last night ... and yeah, they’re doing another season. They’re going to do 10 more episodes, and I will be involved,” Harris revealed through BBC Radio 4.
Harris’ role in the television series is Man In Black also called William. He is a man that holds great power in his hands, sitting atop the Board of Directors, a wealthy person usually recognised by other guests in the park. But he is not one who wants to be interrupted by guests who greet him. His character is one of the show's most mysterious characters so far as bullets bounce off him like gnats on a windshield.
The actor has starred in films like “Enemy at the Gates,” “A History of Violence” and “Gone Baby Gone.” He is a three-time nominee of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in “Apollo 13.”
Although loyal viewers will have to wait until next year for “Westworld” season 2, it seems the wait will be worth the time. The show creators have hinted that that the next instalment will reveal more about how the hosts work, including how they’re powered.
“Their construction and their power source is something we’re really going to get into during season 2,” Nolan told Entertainment Weekly. The second season will also explore more nuts and bolts of what the hosts are as the hosts themselves try to understand themselves.
“Westworld” season 2 is expected to tell more stories as Nolan has admitted that there were a handful of things that they weren’t able to touch in the first season. He said they intend to break the record in season 2 by exploring more about the hosts and how they work. “One of the really nice things about TV is, you get to go again,” he said during a New York Comic Con panel.
Official air date for “Westworld” season 2 is yet to be announced. Foxtel has aired “Westworld” season 1 in Australia.
