What It Was Like To Be Homeless For Internationally Recognized Singer Ed Sheeran
Few years back, Ed Sheeran managed to capture the hearts of many music lovers when he released "Give me Love" back in 2011. However, who would have guessed and thought that a man with an award - gathering voice lived in the vast openness of London, England, homeless way before he achieved his international artist status.
"Homeless" bears the title of one of his ear-pleasing songs in an EP he rereleased in light of his Grammy Award nomination for the album, "+". According to Wikia, the EP was entitled "Loose Change" and he produced it independently. The song might've been pretty upbeat but its title bore great significance in the singer's life because he was homeless for a point in his life.
No place to call his own so he crashed on friend's sofas
The groundbreaking British singer recently released his new book, "Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey." It's there that he shared raw information about one of the most difficult challenges he's had to face being a struggling artist waiting to be heard - having no permanent place to go to when the night falls over the horizon. Buzz Feed featured the Daily Mail published quotations from the book and it stated:
"I didn't have anywhere to live for much of 2008 and the whole of 2009 and 2010, but somehow I made it work. I knew where I could get a bed at a certain time of night and I knew who I could call at any time to get a floor to sleep on. Being sociable helped. Drinking helped."
Or the London Underground
For Ed, music was his life and he didn't care much about the other details of it so long as he could play his music. In the excerpt passages of his published biography, he had gigs until 5 in the morning. Then when it's all over, he would surrender himself to slumber until 12 at Circle Line.
As if stuck on repeat, "It was just: sleep on the train, session, sweat on stage, drink, sleep on the train."
Or the outside of Buckingham Palace
In one of the portions of the externals of Buckingham Palace, a heating duct served as Ed Sheeran's solace. It is where he slept for nights on end.
"That's where I wrote the song 'Homeless' and the lines 'It's not a homeless night for me, I'm just home less than I'd like to be.'"
