If you are someone double or triple checking what movie is worth watching with your hard-earned money, then you might as well take a hint from this box office figures as reported by TheHDRoom.

Fast & Furious 6 won the blockbuster race this week as The Hangover Part III and Fox's Epic ate dust. Fast & Furious 6 opened in cinema Thursday last week - very timely for North America's long holiday weekends box office. It was predicted that once Hangover Part III hit the theaters, the movie will snatch a great percentage of ticket sales from Fast & Furious 6. It did not happen.

Fast & Furious 6 was able to garner $98.5 million just within its first three days of showing - this figure is triple the opening sales of Hangover III.

The big opening day of Fast & Furious 6 is 15 per cent higher than the opening of its fifth franchise, Fast Five. For its fourth day, Universal predicts $120 million ticket sales.

International market had contributed largely to the success of Fast & Furious 6 as it earned 117 million pounds in its premiere in the UK last weekend.

Movie enthusiasts said that one of the strongest reasons why Fast & Furious 6 gained such ticket sales was because its fifth franchise, Fast Five, had left the fans and repeat audience anticipating more. In fact, fans are already waiting for the seventh franchise which was rumoured to hit cinemas in July of 2014.

The Hangover Part II, on the other hand, did not create such anticipation from movie goers that The Hangover Part III suffered in the box office. The second franchise did acquire big sales when it debuted but the film was not able to effect a lasting impression that would have left the audience wanting for more for its third franchise.

The Hangover Part III can boast of solid $54.2 million ticket sales since its debut on Thursday, but this figure is very far from the $117 million fourth day sales of The Hangover Part II.

Meanwhile, Star Trek Into Darkness continues to obtain sales even if it is already on its second week. Although ticket sales decreased to 46 per cent, the latest franchise earned a whopping $147 million total two-week sales. Star Trek Into Darkness is already nearing its $210 million mark as of the latest counting.

Next to Star Trek Into Darkness is Fox 3D animated film Epic. The family demographic contributed big time to Epic's $34.2 ticket sales since its theater debut in Friday. There were no other animated films to compete with that enthusiasts predict the movie will hit that revenue in the next few weeks. In the international market, the movie already has $42 million ticket sales.

Still on the box office list is Iron man 3 which is already nearing its $400 million mark in next few weeks. International sales of Iron Man 3 were already $775 million. Iron Man 3, with its $1.14 billion earnings was officially on the number five spot on the highest grossing movies of all time.
