What Will Be the Roles of One Direction on Glee? Matthew Morrison Opens Up
It seems One Direction could actually be making their Glee debut soon. Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson already had two of their songs featured on the show but the hit U.S. musical series at William McKinley High School could just be ready to welcome the boy band as one of their celebrity cameos.
Matthew Morrison, who portrays Professor Will Schuester on television, reported told the Daily Star that having One Direction on would definitely be great for the show. He added that the boys are not much older than High School age so the band members could have them as students. "And I'm sure the younger female cast members of the show would not object to their presence either," he said.
1D might not even be the only one who will make a special appearance on Glee though, as Morrison revealed that the stars of the show want to invite another dream guest on board. He said that sports teacher Jane Lynch's dream cameo is One Direction's band manager, Simon Cowell. "It would make great TV to see Simon Cowell and Sue Sylvester go head to head," Morrison joked.
Morrison hopes the boys could bring their band manager with them. Glee has already covered One Direction's recent hit "Live While We're Young" and "What Makes You Beautiful." The "Midnight Memories" crooners might just drop by the hit series in one of its final episode, leaving fans wondering what their roles could be.
The U.S. X Factor is being axed after Cowell decided to go back to the UK show so he definitely has a lot of time on his hands. The hit series has seen guest cameos from the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears and Kate Hudson. The 100th Glee episode is scheduled to air on March 18 with Heather Morris and Kristin Chenoweth set to return. Glee is on its fifth and final season on Fox.
One Direction is nominated at the 2014 BRIT Awards for Best British Single and Best Group. The boy band is scheduled to kick off their "Where We Are" tour later this year.
