Hunting for bargains, discounts, and or major freebies on the Internet, opens a lot of doors to Australian consumers looking forward to discounts and even freebies in their favourite restaurants and supermarket chains all over the country.

These two consumer websites: http://www.shopadocket.com.au/ and http://www.whypayfullprice.com.au/ are real treats for avid consumers that want some real discounts on their purchases whether online or by personally stopping by their favourite groceries.

The www.shopadocket.com.au offers a lot from movie downloads, gift items, travel deals, and even restaurant discounts can be found in this site.

Wary if these coupons are for real especially in restaurants in your area, verifying them through a phone call can be done, too before going to the restaurant.

In the Sydney area for instance, one can choose from a variety of restaurants offering discount coupons for the day or week. The printed coupon should be presented at the restaurant you have chosen. The site actually boldly indicates that some 19,650 coupons from their site have been printed by site visitors.

In terms of product specific retail and other specialty stores, shopadocket.com, has discount treats and other on-season products on-sale posted by K-Mart, Sleepy's, OfficeMax, ToysRUs, among others. The site specifies the exact dates the period of redemption ends.

Group discounts

Another interesting site for Australian consumers is the whypayforfullprice.com. As what its name states, the site offers discounts to group buyers similar to wholesale discounts. A smart marketing tool by Magnus Advertising and Marketing Pty Ltd (ACN 066 237 429), the site requires a registration. Every time there is a deal offered by a restaurant or retail store, emails will be send to the registered shopper or consumer and if there are enough replies indicating interest in the promotional deal in a city, discounts of as much as 90 percent can be given out.

The site explains that every day when offers are available in your city "you'll receive one massive discount deal sent to your email inbox. You decide if you want to take up the offer. The deal is on when a pre-nominated number of people have agreed to purchase it. Once the deal is on we'll email your coupon so you can print it out and use it to redeem the deal."

There is no such thing as a free lunch or dinner, but to the patient consumer, discounts can go along way during hard times.
