After topping the celebrity's worst-role-model survey conducted by the AOL website, questions are raised as to why the 18-year-old pop star has received 58% of the total 99,000 votes of the respondents, as their expression of disapproval of Miley Cyrus’s scandalous behavior.

The survey came one month after Cyrus was videotaped smoking a bong with ‘salvia’, a kind of drug though not considered illegal, is listed as a ‘drug of concern’ by US Drug Enforcement Agency.

But Miley’s use of the bong is not the only reason why the teenage star has been getting the media attention these days. In fact, not just days or weeks, but her scandalous behavior has been getting the media attention in the last twelve months, according to The Daily Mail.

And this is what concerned citizens and organizations see as the contributing factors to her increasing publicity these days, albeit in a bad light. Well, bad publicity, it is, earning her second worst influence among celebrities this year.

Miley Cyrus began her career when featured as the lead star for the Disney show, Hannah Montana. The show has given her millions of young fan base. The Daily Mail claimed that the teenage star capitalized on her young fan base and was reported to have earned millions of dollars from their adoration.

It’s a high price that comes with an even higher responsibility. Her paycheck has expected Cyrus to behave better than she has, since she found fame. With millions of fan base, Cyrus is expected to serve as role model for teenagers, especially for girls.

But Cyrus has appeared to desperately get out of her good-girl image and has been involved in a number of incidents, allowing media to feed on her behavior.

Smoking a bong with salvia is maybe Cyrus’s most recent step towards her ‘bad-girl image’ quest. But the Daily Mail enumerated a number of many other reasons for her growing ‘popularity’.

According to the Daily Mail, Cyrus has been pictured wearing scandalous outfits; dancing provocatively in nightclubs and drinking alcohol abroad despite the age requirement allowed by the United States government. Cyrus is three years ahead of the legal age to take alcoholic drinks.

Her drinking sprees have prompted alcohol related groups to express concern on the Hannah Montana star and the impact of her role on the Disney film to millions of teenage fans.

The head of the International Institute for Alcohol Awareness, James E. Copple was quoted by The Daily Mail as saying that Cyrus’s behavior may influence young people to follow her lead and engage in ‘risky behavior associated with underage alcohol consumption’.

“The young people that see her as a role model could mimic the same behavior and as a consequence, will go out and become intoxicated, putting their safety at risk,” Copple was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

Cyrus’s affair with alcohol also appears to have brought about her ‘adult behavior’ in her public display of affection with her boyfriends.

According to the Daily Mail, Cyrus was first seen publicly kissing ex-beau, Liam Hemsworth. Aside from Hemsworth, Cyrus has also been linked to other boys like Nick Jonas.

But her intimate behavior has worsened with current boyfriend, Aran Jogia. The couple, who are both 18, were seen together on her 18th birthday in November, last year. A picture of Cyrus, according to News.Com.Au came out showing the singer ‘sprawled over the bar’ of Hollywood club, Trousdale, with Jorgia seen ‘straddled on top of her, kissing her neck’.

In addition to her drinking spree, drug-related behavior, and scandalous intimate adult behavior with boyfriends, Cyrus has sunk herself into an even deeper mud of controversies after the release of her latest video for her single, “Who Owns My Heart Last Year”.

Cyrus was seen in the video ‘pantyless, gyrating on a bed while primping for a night on the town’, said News.Com.Au. But what got everyone’s closer attention is when the young actress and singer was seen ‘caressing her chest while groping older men on the dance floor’ in a clip of the video showing her arrival at a nightclub.

This scene has resulted in frantic parents’ organizations to reach out to the airwaves and voice out their concerns. TMZ reported that the Parents Television Council based in the US has condemned the teenager’s ‘overtly adult performance’.

“It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one,” the association’s representative, Tim Winters told TMZ, according to the Daily Mail.

It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point,” Winters added. “Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.”

It’s like saying, “What’s the rush, Miley?”.
