What's in store for Prince William, Princess Kate and children Prince George, Princess Charlotte in 2016
The year 2015 may have been a memorable year for the royal couple Prince William and Princess Kate as they welcomed their second child--Princess Charlotte into the world and also had many other celebrations. Let's take a look at some of the momentous events that the royal family of four will look forward to this 2016.
For the first month of the year, the royal family will be preparing for two events. One would be Kate Middleton’s 34th birthday on Jan. 9, followed by Prince George’s first day at nursery school. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s son is all set for his first day of nursery school this January, People magazine reported. The 2-year-old prince will attend Westacre Montessori School located at East Walton.
Prince George is said to go to nursery school several mornings a week. According to Pop Sugar, the Westacre Montessori School's teaching methodology focuses on social development and independence, where young toddlers are encouraged to choose and participate in activities that would capture their interest and suit them.
Another milestone event this 2016 would be Princess Charlotte’s first birthday on May 2. Although prior to that momentous occasion, Prince William and Princess Kate will be celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary on April 29. Traditionally, the royal couple’s upcoming anniversary would be marked with a gift made of wood, which symbolises a customary 5th anniversary token, Pop Sugar stated.
The royal couple is also set to go on a royal tour of India in spring, although the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not expected to bring their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte with them. The India tour will also be the first time that Prince William and Princess Kate will travel outside of the country together since their New York visit in December 2014.
June will also be a month of celebrations for the royal family, as Prince William will turn 34 on June 21. It also is the month where a formal celebration is held to honour Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday, who will turn 90 on April 21, with the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony and other festivities. July, on the other hand, will see Prince George turn three-years-old on July 22.
With all these celebrations, 2016 will surely be another memorable and busy year for Prince William, Princess Kate and their children, along with other members of the royal family.
