Northern Illinois Huskies star quarterback Jordan Lynch wants to end his stellar career with a bang. The senior gets the chance to do just that in the Poinsettia Bowl where they face the overachieving Utah State Aggies who played in the final half of the regular season without their own start quarterback in Chuckie Keeton.

Lynch was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy behind excellent numbers of 2,676 passing yards, 1,881 rushing yards plus 23 passing touchdowns and 22 rushing TDs. He also helped the Huskies set a single-season school record for wins.

The Aggies will try to contain Lynch behind a Top 10 defense—they limit opponents to 17.3 points per game and 107.3 rushing yards per game. They are also No. 12 in total defense allowing only a total of 332.1 yards.

The Huskies average 41.6 points per game and are most effective on the ground with Lynch and running back Cameron Stingily.

Freshman Darell Garretson replaced Keeton under center in the final five games and performed well with 1,325 passing yards and nine TDs for the season.

Northern Illinois is 5-8 in 13 bowl appearances while Utah State is 2-6 in eight.
