Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves are off to a fast start in the 2013-14 NBA regular season with three wins in a row. The same cannot be said of Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers who wants to avoid a third straight loss after winning their season opener.

On their way to a perfect record, Minnesota has won over the Orlando Magic (120-115 OT), Oklahoma City Thunder (100-81) and New York Knicks (109-100) powered by superstar Kevin Love, who leads the league in scoring at 29.7 points per game and second in caroms at 14.7 rebounds per game.

The Cavs won on opening day against the Brooklyn Nets, 98-94 but has lost back-to-back road games against the Charlotte Bobcats (90-84) and the Indiana Pacers (89-74).

Cavs star guard Kyrie Irving has struggled in the past two losses shooting 32.5 per cent from the field and an atrocious 44.4 per cent shooting from the line.

As a team, the Cavs rank last in the league in scoring (85.3 PPG) and field goal percentage (38.2 FG per cent).

“As crazy as this sounds, I thought tonight was our best offensive night from the stand point that the ball moved and bodies moved,” head coach Mike Brown told the team’s official website after the Pacers loss.

To compare, the Wolves starting point guard Ricky Rubio averages 10.3 assists per game and the entire Cavs team average 15.3 assists per game—or just 28th overall in the entire league.

The Wolves have also won both meetings last season against the Cavs and both times Minnesota has covered the spread.
