In the dawn of her breakup with John Mayer, Katy Perry publicly appears at the Kid's Choice Awards in an eye catching two-piece dress. However, the "Fireworks" singer looked anything but happy.

Although she might probably miss him, Katy looked dressed to impress with her fashion choice. Later in the evening, Katy amped up her sex appeal in a lingerie inspired dress to maybe show Mayer what he's been missing. The 28-year-old singer arrived at the Kid's Choice Awards after party at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood in California.

Katy managed to forget for a while her heartaches and enjoyed the company of her new found friend Kristen Stewart. The singer was earlier seen laughing with the ladies including Selena Gomez and Fergie at the Nickelodeon awards show.

It emerged last week that Katy and her partner John Mayer have called it quits after dating since summer of last year. The spilt came as a shock to everyone since the pair just went on a trip together to Montana.

The two reportedly split because of work commitments. But a source said that although the news is sad, the breakup may not be the permanent end for the two singers.

"It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out," a source said. "She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."

After a couple of days, Katy seems to be better. Perhaps she took her own advice to remain positive and to live life to the fullest. She posted an uplifting message on her Twitter account saying, "Live everyday like you're going to be wiped out by a meteor. #scienceyolo."

Although Katy and John called it quits for now, close friends of the two said that they won't be surprised if they saw them back together again. An insider told HollywoodLife that it's more than a "break" than a "break up."

"You'll probably see them hanging out sooner than later and hooking up again. They remain very friendly," a source said.
