Which is Better: iOS 7 New OmniVision Camera Features or Nokia Lumia 928 Lytro Camera?
Apple's FaceTime is expected to improve on iOS 7 running devices having 1080p video quality using the new OmniVision OV2724 chip. At the same time, speculation revolves on Nokia taking camera technology seriously by including Lytro Camera to their next wave of mobile devices. So which one is better?
Apple's New FaceTime Video Quality
OmniVision revealed their new smallest camera chip ever which greatly improves full HD front camera by giving it 1080p resolution whenever used for video chat. Not only it possesses higher resolution but also holds 60 frames per second, generating eye-catching details between HDR and low-light shooting.
The current version of FaceTime has a resolution of 720p or 1280 x 720 using the rear camera and 640 x 480 from the front-shooter. Both these two cameras are used on FaceTime having 30 frames per second. But everything will change once Apple releases their iOS 7 devices and integrated with the said new camera chip boosting FaceTime's video resolution to the highest level.
Lytro Camera on Upcoming Nokia Devices
Nokia is not ignoring camera technology and seriously taking charge to make their upcoming mobile devices more efficient and usable. Bloomberg reported that Nokia focuses on improving the camera technology of their mobile devices and now investing in Pelican Imaging - a California start-up working on camera technology for smartphones called Array.
Lytro is a camera type which gathers all available light in the area to capture images with the process allowing the user to adjust the focus in a photo after it was taken. Array by Pelican Imaging offers similar experience with Lytro but in a more compact package designed for mobile devices.
Once Nokia finishes its development with new camera technology, the company expects to draw Apple users to their side by delivering unique impressions of state-of-the-art video recording and image capturing.
