In lieu of the ongoing vampire fad, look back on actors who portrayed vampire roles on TV and on the big screen. Some of these actors have made it big since taking the part and some have shifted to another and put behind the past role.

Brad Pitt - One of Brad Pitt's memorable roles dating from the early stages of his career was as Louis de Pointe du Lac, a vampire. He played the role side by side with Tom Cruise in one of the best vampire movies of all time "Interview with the Vampire."

Tom Cruise - Cruise played brilliantly as Lestat de Lioncourt in the movie "Interview with the Vampire" which also stars Brad Pitt and the young Kirsten Dunst. In the movie, he played as the vampire telling the story of his life, love, loneliness, and betrayal.

Kiefer Sutherland - The famous "Jack Bauer" played as vampire in the 1987 movie "The Lost Boys." His role is the leader of the "lost boys" gang of vampires.

Wesley Snipes - Wesley is a half human, half vampire vowed to protect the human race in the series of movie "Blade." Unlike other movies, it is more action packed, filled with stunts and swordfights.

David Boreanaz - His first vampire stunt was on the TV series "Buffy." Two years after "Angel" was released, a TV series made especially for his character in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Stuart Townsend - He played as a sexy vampire in the movie "Queen of the Damned" which stars the late R&B singer Aaliyah. Played the role of a rock star vampire Lestat whose music woke up the queen of all vampires.

Ian Somerhalder - He may be the hottest vampire in the face of television right now. He plays Damon Salvatore in the hit TV series "The Vampire Diaries." He is also the real life sweetheart of Nina Dobrev, the female lead of the series.

Robert Pattinson - The British actor has a lot to thank his role as Edward Cullen in the blockbuster hit "Twilight." He plays as vampire who fell in love with a human portrayed by Kristen Stewart. The movie could be considered Pattinson's big break in showbiz.
