RECAP Of "Whack-A-Mole," Episode 5 of "White Collar" Final Season:
The episode picks up from last episode. Neal is surprised to see Woodford at his apartment. The suspected boss of the Pink Panthers tells Neal that there is a suspected mole in the operation and he wants him to dig up the mole. Woodford does not want to end up in the prison. He believes that Neal is not the mole, as a listening device was found at one of his hideouts before he joined the group. Neal does not want to track down the model, as for him "the only thing worse than a mole is the rat" and he has never been one and he will never be one. This statement impresses the big boss and he says that now he can trust him completely. Woodford is thinking of aborting the operation if he cannot find the mole, as getting incarcerated for $500 billion is not worth taking the risk. This leads to Neal figuring out that Woodford's target is Federal Reserve money.
Later at the White Collar office, both Peter and Neal do not reveal to each other that they know that the Pink Panthers want to get richer by half a billion dollars. Talking about the mole, Peter tells Neal that they will give him Keller. Peter is going to talk to Luc to pull out Keller. While he does that, Neal would impress Woodford with his knowledge of the algorithm. The FBI team suspect that Neal may know about the cash and wonder why he isn't telling them about it. They feel that he may fall to the temptation.
Neal goes to meet Woodford. The latter shows the suave con-man the guns, which are part of his plan to steal $500 billion. At the White Collar office, Peter tells Luc to pull out Keller, as he is the one who bugged the hideout and thanks to that Woodford now trusts Neal and no one else. Peter offers that Neal would work for both of them and they can take down the Pink Panthers together. Keller does not react violently to the news and seems understanding till he puts a seed of doubt in Luc's mind, saying that Neal has the habit of going south.
Neal informs Peter about Woodford's plan to use fire-power. Peter does not want to risk people's life and wants to taken down the Pink Panthers as soon as possible. Neal, however, tells him that they do not have enough evidence against them. He wants to convince Woodford that he has a better plan. Peter tells him that he does not want any surprises and does not want to be left in the dark.
Mozzie has used his genius mind to give Neal a better plan to give to Woodford. He has worked on the algorithms and has discovered that there are variables -- in addition to international airports and international carriers -- that the FBI has failed to identify. According to Mozzie, these variables may represent the warehouses, where the cash is stored when they arrive. Neal figures out that it is the exchange that happens, "the score of scores." Mozzie has figured out a way to reroute the money wherever and whenever they want.
Mozzie is disappointed when Neal is iffy about introducing him to the Pink Panthers as his partner. Neal leaves the apartment, saying that he needs to tell Peter about Mozzie's discovery. However, he does not go to meet him. Luc sees him giving an envelope to a woman and clicks their photos. He later asks Peter what Neal is up. Peter does not have a convincing answer and this makes Luc get his CI back in the operation and he tells Keller to give Woodford a mole. Peter wants Agent Jones to find the identity of the woman and what Neal was doing at the location. He later goes to meet Neal at the apartment and finds Mozzie there. After meeting Woodford and telling him about the new way, Neal arrives and he and Peter both admit that they know about the $500 billion Federal Reserve operation. Neal tells Peter what Mozzie has discovered and that he has created a randomiser. Neal wants Peter's help to design it for the FBI and help them plan a new heist.
Peter suggests that they use the old post-office tubes, piles of them still exist underground. Neal and Mozzie visit a yoga centre to find a tube that is close to the airport. They knock down the wall to find that there is one in that building. Later, members of the Pink Panthers arrive. Keller, however, is not with them. After Woodford leaves the premise, the rest of the members gang up against Neal. Neal, however, makes them focus on the task and not suspect him as a mole. The team soon receives a call from Woodford.
Peter and Jones are at the site where Luc spotted Neal with the woman. They wonder what Neal is up to and whether the containers at the site can hold $500 billion dollars. Diana informs them that Luc is dead and his body has been dumped in a dumpster.
Keller meets Woodford and tells him that he can help him dig the mole. The rest of the members arrive at the hideout, including Neal, and Woodford uses Luc's phone to track down the mole. Keller planted his chip on one of the old members and this gets him killed. Neal figures out that Keller gave Luc up and Woodford killed him.
Peter informs his team that they have less than 72 hours to take down the Pink Panthers and that Keller is working under him. Peter is not able to continue the meeting, as he gets the first sonogram photo of his child. Liz informs him that their first born will be a boy.
With one of the Pink Panthers dead, the notorious gang may need a member to accomplish their operation. Neal still does not want to introduce Mozzie to the Pink Panthers. Mozzie accuses him of lying to him and holding back information. Neal ends the conversation, saying that he has his reasons.
Later, Neal introduces Peter to the Pink Panthers. Woodford points a gun at Peter, asking "who the hell are you." The episode 5 of "White Collar" Season 6 ends.
