Recap of "White Collar" Season 5 Episode 11, "Short Through the Heart": Peter and Neal are at Rebecca's apartment. It is the apartment to which Neal was never invited. He is at loss to explain the real identity of Rebecca, and wants to stay back to confront her. However, they cannot do that as there is no warrant or hard-evidence against her. Peter talks Neal out of it, saying they leave the apartment, re-group and figure out what to do next. Peter does not want Rebecca to know that they came to her apartment, as he wants to dig-out hard evidence against her.

Agent David Siegel was murdered six blocks away from Rebecca's building. Peter comes to the conclusion that Rebecca killed Agent Siegel when she discovered that he is on her tail. Neal is rattled and Peter tells him that they must not let Rebecca get away. He wants Neal to tell him everyone. Neal tells Peter that Hagen was looking for a lost treasure that Mosconi hid hundred years ago. He also reveals to him about the rare diamonds, and realises that he was played by both of them from the beginning.

Peter wants Neal to stay away from the case. He is trying to protect Neal. However, Neal disagrees, saying that he needs to act normal otherwise Rebecca will get suspicious. Peter gives-in and plans to use Neal as an advantage, asking Neal to keep Rebecca occupied while they search her apartment. Later, Peter tells Elizabeth that he feels bad for Neal, but a life of lies catches-up and it did for Neal.

At Neal's apartment, Mozzie is scanning the place for bugs. He informs Neal that Rebecca did not bug the place. Neal is hurt as he felt excited about someone for the first time in a while. He cared about her. He tells Mozzie that everything about Rebecca is work of fiction. Mozzie says that she fooled, everyone and that is not easy to do.

Rebecca visits Neal's place for lunch, unaware that Neal has found out her fake identity. Peter and his team investigate her place for evidence and bug the apartment. Neal informs Rebecca that Hagen was killed. She pretends to be shocked and feigns ignorance about who kidnapped her. Neal tells her that he does not want her to get involved, as it is dangerous. Rebecca tells him that they cannot be half-way and if she is going to be part of Neal's life, it should include Neal's con part of life.

Peter finds a file on his wife, too, in one of Rebecca's cabinets. He calls Elizabeth to send her out of town. One of the FBI agents drops a file near the motion detector at the door, which is an electronic trip wire. Rebecca immediately gets an alert on her phon. She gets-up to leave, saying she has a doctor's appointment. Neal tries to buy some time. He confesses to her that he is falling in love with her. Once Rebecca leaves, Neal informs Peter about Rebecca's departure. Rebecca returns to her apartment to find a Chinese menu booklet near the door, which puts her suspicion to rest.

At White Collar division, Peter, Neal and Agent Jones watch Rebecca on the monitor. She is packing-up some stuff and calls-up someone. That someone turns-out to be Neal. She tells Neal that she loves him. Peter tells Neal that she cares about him, as she is packing-up things belonging to her pre-Rebecca days. She wants to stay as Rebecca and is in love with Neal. Neal goes through his file, which was found in Rebecca's cabinet. She had studied his ex-girlfriends to come-up with a persona of a perfect girl for Neal.

Peter calls Rebecca to White Collar office to see what she does when they threaten to take Neal away. He tells her that Neal is a prime suspect in the killing of Hagen. Rebecca pretends to be shocked and concerned. Neal and Agent Jones are watching Peter and Rebecca's conversation. Neal tells Agent Jones that she is concerned about her getting caught but is making it look like she is concerned about him.

Later, Rebecca sends a message to Neal, asking him to meet her at a location. A worried Rebecca tells Neal that FBI thinks he committed a murder. Neal says that he has to run. Rebecca wishes to join him. Neal tells her that she is not that kind of girl. Rebecca is on the verge of telling Neal her true identity but stops, seeing under-cover FBI agents. She figures out that it is a trap and Neal is involved, as well. Rebecca runs away before Peter or any of the FBI agents can catch her.

Neal and Peter go back to her apartment. When they are close to the window, a bullet kisses past Neal's arms. She did not intend to kill Neal but wanted them away from where they were standing. In the radiator near the window, Peter and Neal find fake passports and IDs.

Neal and Peter try to figure out how Rebecca must have disposed the gun, with which she killed Agent Siegel. From the building, they walk to the spot where Agent Siegel was killed. It was raining the day Siegel died, and a concrete slab was set on that day near the murder site. The slab is cracked-up and the murder weapon is found, which has Rebecca's finger-prints.

Peter informs Neal about Rebecca's real identity. She was an MI14 agent and her real name is Rachel Turner. Neal tells Peter to use him as bait since they now know what is making her stay. Peter does not take-up the offer and asks Neal to go home.

Neal has his own plans, as he calls-up Rebecca, which goes to voice mail. He tells her he is ready to give information about the diamonds in exchange for the blackmail video. Rebecca takes-up the offer and messages him where they can meet. She tells him to come alone. At the meeting place, they exchange the blackmail video and the diamonds' fake information. Rebecca is not suspicious. Neal stalls her from getting away, with his smooth talk. She is unable to resist Neal and kisses him. Neal uses a handcuff to tie-her with him so that she does not run away. Rebecca uses her gun to break the handcuff bond and runs away. Rebecca, however, is unable to get away this time, as Peter and FBI agents surround her.

Peter tells Neal about his Washington D.C posting and later celebrates the beginning of a new life, with his wife. Neal gets a call from Rebecca. She tells Neal that she is impressed that she was well played. She has not called to give a threat that she has a back-up file of the blackmail video.

Rebecca has called Neal to promise: "I'll see you soon."
