White Collar has returned to U.S. television Tuesday night, delighting fans who were left hanging after Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) nodded an escape cue to Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) in the summer finale.

In the final scene of Season 3 finale, Neal is seen with Mozzie (Willie Garson) on board a plane. It is understood they are turning their backs on Manhattan.

Spoiler alert: There will be Season 4 spoilers from this point on. Stop reading if you have not seen the first episode.

The USA Network corporate crime dramedy series opens Season 4 with Burke now thinking over the go signal he gave to Neal. Viewers learn that it has been six weeks since Caffrey has ditched his anklet.

A DOJ agent comes in, and Burke's assistance has been asked to find Caffrey. Meanwhile, Caffrey and Mozzie are living it up in a tropical island paradise "with limitless wealth."

Instead of assisting a DOJ agent, Burke gathers his loyal team to get clues on Caffrey's location. He slips, and the bad cop finds his map. Now Caffrey is in real danger.

Caffrey is held at gunpoint in the final scene. How is he going to get out of it?

White Collar creator muses on Season 4

Speaking to Collider, Creator Jeff Easton has this to say about the season premiere. Read between the lines for clues on what to expect this season:

"The thing that people will probably be most surprised about is that, when we meet him on the island, he's actually having an okay time. Neal is one of these guys who has always run, his entire life. Almost everything that he loves and enjoys is temporary. As much as he's going to miss Peter and Elizabeth and his life in Manhattan, it's temporary. For Neal, this is the evolution. He's like, "I love that place. I'll make do here. Eventually, the memories will fade and I'll find a new life." I think he believes that because he doesn't think he has a choice."
