White Collar Season 5 Spoiler: Return of Pilot Episode Character to Help Prove Peter’s Innocence
Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) will need all the help from all the quarters, including the shady ones, to prove that his handler, mentor and surrogate father Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) did not commit the murder of a senator. He is likely to knock at the doors of a criminal counterfeiter and strike a deal.
The premiere episode of White Collar Season 5 sees the return of a character who was apprehend by Peter and sent behind bars in the pilot episode of White Collar. He then disappeared from the radar of White Collar. The Dutchman C.H., aka Curtis Hagen (Mark Sheppard), returns to "stirs the pot" and help Neal. But, there is a price to pay as Neal might have to use his criminal forgery skills, again and take the con route.
"It's such a gift to be able to revisit a character like Hagen," Mark told HuffPost TV. "It's so much fun to come back after four years and stir the pot a little."
In the pilot episode, the Duchman was shown as an expert, criminal forger. He was involved in the counterfeiting of 1944 Spanish Victory Bonds by using pages from antique, Spanish books. Neal and Mozzie (Willie Garson) identified Hagen as the brain behind the counterfeiting and provided the information to Peter. Later, Neal helped Peter to apprehend him.
C.H returns in White Collar Season 5 for a "significant arc" and according to Huffington Post, he will be striking a deal with Neal, who is desperate to prove that Peter did not kill the senator (Season 4 finale).
Huffington Post says, " ... the kinds of demands that Hagen makes of Neal could lead Neal back to his old life as a criminal and con man."
In the new season of White Collar, Neal will be getting a new handler as Peter will be spending some time behind bars. Warren Kole joins the cast of White Collar to reprise his role of Agent David Seigal, the new handler of Neal.
USA Network has yet to announce the date of White Collar Season 5 premiere episode. However, the total number of episodes to air this season is no longer 16. Only 13 episodes will air this season.
