Matt Bomer, who plays Neal Caffrey, came-up with a wild idea about how the final season of "White Collar" should end. This idea has led to a fun as well as a fitting end to one of the most popular USA Networks' original shows.

"I had this wild idea about how the story should end, and I talked to Tim [DeKay] about it and I talked to Willie [Garson] about it and we talked to [series creator] Jeff Eastin," Bomer said to TV Line.

It looks like Bomer's original idea became the base on which the final six episodes were built on.The actor said to TV Line, "everybody put their two cents in and were vibing on it. I think we came up with something that's really fun and fitting. When I thought about it, it was really the only way we could end the show. I hope everyone's happy with it."

"White Collar" Season 6 is the final season. USA Networks has given the team only six episodes to wrap-up the series and give the popular show a proper closure.

As previously reported, filming of the final season is expected to begin in June. The shooting will take place in New York. However, it is unlikely to premiere this year, as Bomer hinted in an interview with OutQ Frank Show that "White Collar" Season 6 may air in winter 2015.

Talking about when "White Collar" is likely to wind-up, Bomer said that it is "not until winter of next year ... January, February may be." The Season 5 wrapped-up with the abduction of Neal by an unknown man and Peter deciding to not take-up his new job at Washington, D.C. The final season may open with Peter and Mozzie teaming-up to find Neal's location and the person behind his kidnapping.

Bomer, 36, is currently receiving great reviews for his heart-wrenching portrayal of Felix Turner, a closeted reporter of The New York Times, in "Normal Heart." The actor lost 35 pounds to play the role.
