It was not the team captain, Darren Lockyer and his players; definitely not Brisbane’s chairman Darryl Somerville; nor could it be former chief executive Bruno Cullen who was behind Ivan Henjak’s early departure from Brisbane team. It is then left to newly designated chief executive, Paul White to do ‘the dirty work’ and maneuver the changes for Broncos 18 days before the NRL premiership kick-off this season.

In a related report filed by IBTimes, Lockyer has justified his claims that he could never make a move against former Broncos coach, Ivan Henjak despite the poor evaluation the whole team gave him after losing last year, the first in 19 years. Lockyer has earlier maintained that he had not had a falling out with Ivan to go against the former coach's opposite direction.

"I know there are rumours going around that I had a falling out with Ivan but that wasn't the case,” Lockyer was quoted as saying by the Australian Associated Press. "We had a good relationship but at times last year when we were going through a pretty bad trot I think everyone was down a bit.

So, if it was not Lockyer, who among the club’s top officials to walk the extra mile to boot Ivan off from the team.

Like Lockyer, it could not be Broncos chairman, Darryl Somerville. Somerville is Henjak’s most loyal and devoted ally in the team. His loyalty was tested first in 2009, said the AAP, when Wayne Bennet left and Somerville threatened to resign if Henjak would be kicked out of the team then.

It could also not be Bronco’s chief executive, Bruno Cullen. Cullen is loyal to Somerville as Somerville is loyal to Henjak. Cullen chose to side with Somerville when the chairman threatened to resign if the 2009 plans to sack Henjak would come into place.

Henjak had had a rollercoaster two years since 2009 and the growing discontent peaked until Tuesday capped with the Brisbane coach’s early departure.

So if it was not Lockyer, nor Cullen and definitely not Somerville, it is then left to newly designated chief executive for Broncos, Paul White to make the move in order to effect change in Brisbane team.

According to AAP, White made his own review of the team and after conducting interviews with players and staff he found out the unresolved plans to sack Henjak.

Henjak’s departure ensued Cullen’s retirement and Henjak’s loyalist and devoted ally, Somerville’s resignation and this has put the Broncos in an even rockier position.
