Why Fast & Furious 6 May Just Be Your Favorite Movie of the Year [PHOTOS]
Fans, hold on to your seats because Fast & Furious 6 looks to be the biggest and loudest (well, fastest and most furious) installment in the series yet.
This time, the upcoming sequel showcases not just expensive cars, guns, and fighting like a Fast & Furious classic, but steps it up to include exploding planes and high-speed tank chases. Not to mention the shocking comeback of Letty, played by Michelle Rodriguez, which also gives a serious twist to the vehicular-mayhem franchise.
It may be recalled that Vin Diesel's former girlfriend died after the events of 2009's Fast & Furious where she got shot, and it still remains a question how Letty survived the obviously fatal attack.
As if the Super Bowl teaser wasn't enough, the extended three-minute trailer continues to whet the appetites of fans since it came out, exposing more impressive car chases and hand-on-hand battle scenes.
After the big $100-million heist in Rio, the whole gang is back: Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris and others, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who reprises the muscle-flexing, gun-toting federal agent Luke Hobbs from Fast Five.
As seen in the trailer, Hobbs recruits Dominic Toretto to assemble an elite team to take down an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers in London, which seems to be the main focus of the new installment.
New faces are joining the badass crew and are expected to engage in action-packed scenes, thus should equally be watched out for. Who would miss out the girl-on-girl brawl of Rodriguez and MMA fighter Gina Carano who plays as Hobbs' new partner, as well as the likes of Luke Evans and Joe Taslim acting as the new villains?
Fast & Furious 6 is again under the direction of Justin Lin, his fourth in the Fast & Furious series after leading Fast Five to a global blockbuster success in 2011. The highly-anticipated film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 24.
