The lead man of Welsh nu-metal band Lostprophets, Ian Watkins sold millions of records and performed in huge arenas.

But, there is another side of Ian Watkins, a fairly new side for fans. The side which baffled them. He was "a determined and committed paedophile." Detective Chief Inspector Peter Doyle from South Wales Police mentioned, "There is no doubt in my mind that Ian Watkins exploited his celebrity status in order to abuse young children," obtained via BBC.

Singer Ian Watkins was born in 1977 and raised in Pontypridd. In his mid teens, he formed his first thrash metal band named Aftermath. He studied graphic design and later started playing drums. Watkins became a vocalist and quit playing drums after the singer of one of his bands quit.

In 1997, Lozt Prophetz was formed. After three years, with a new spelling of their name, they recorded their first album titled The Fake Sound of Progress. It was a small budget album recorded in a week.

Columbia Records and manager Peter Mensch, whose company Q Prime manages Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica, helped the band re-record their debut album and re-released it.

The band's second and third album reached the Top 40 and soon they became famous in the US.

With their third album - "Liberation Transmission," they peaked in UK and went to claim the number one spot in 2006.

Kerrang! named Lostprophets as the best British band for two years in a row in 2006 and 2007.

Watkins donned goth clothes and performed with his band Lostprophets in huge arenas. In April 2012, "Weapons" was released and eight months later Watkins was arrested.

The Ugly side of a Rocker - Ian Watkins

Now, the world knows that while in Lostprophets, Ian Watkins colluded with two female fans to abuse their babies. He also took advantage of underage fans.

Reports stated that the tainted rocker has pleaded guilty to various child sex offences which include the attempted rape of a baby.

Cardiff Crown Court was also provided with 17-minute video in which Watkins did a sexual act on the baby. The video was shot a day after "Weapons" was released. BBC reported that he was a cocaine and crystal meth user and claimed to have no memory of the sad events recorded in the video.

Chris Clee, prosecuting barrister mentioned that drugs were responsible for the offences committed against children. In fact, Watkins planned to teach children how to take drugs.

Lostprophets singer used Skype to see the other woman abuse her baby. The 45-minute long video call showed Watkins talking to the woman about how they were going to abuse the baby. He called the woman and her child as his "slave duo."

A 16-year-old girl from Boston told Watkins that she was a virgin and a fan. She went to meet him in a schoolgirl uniform and Watkins described her as his "underage sl*t."

In Oct. 2008, Watkins filmed himself having intercourse with a different 16-year-old fan.

Police want other victims to open up and come forward.

The ex-members of Lostprophets released a statement last month stating that they are "coming to terms with our heartache." They have no plans to play music as Lostprophets.
