Have you ever wondered why Miley Cyrus likes sticking her tongue out whenever asked to take a photo? Everyone has wondered why and here is the answer straight from the "We Can't Stop" singer.

In her recent interview with the "Rolling Stone" magazine, Miley had answered a question most people, parents and characteristically classy teens have asked maybe a zillion times or more: "Why does she stick her tongue out?"

Like everyone else, Miley feels awkward and a little self conscious posing for photos and as she is one of the most talked about celebrities right now, looking good in photos is really a stressful thing and so Miley would rather just put her tongue out of her mouth then smile for the cameras.

The singer had said during her interview with "Rolling Stone" magazine:

"I just stick my tongue out because I hate smiling in pictures. It's so awkward. It looks so cheesy. Now people expect it -- like, 'Put your tongue out! It's just easier that way. Taking pictures is so embarrassing. But there's also something about it that I think is cool. Every other girl is so serious -- like this is my moment on the red carpet, I'm in my ball gown, looking pretty. There's something empowering about what I'm doing right now."

The singer surely believes it is empowering to her and well a few may not really think it looks classy but if she finds it helps her then maybe her "tongue-thingy" isn't so bad after all.

Miley Cyrus took the stage for this year's American Music Awards where she closed the show with her single, "Wrecking Ball" in which she had a kitten lip-syncing to the song while she sang live.

There weren't no twerks or tongue wagging around the stage this time as she sang the song the way singers are supposed to sing it on stage.
