Why Rachael Taylor filed an intervention order against Mathew Newton?
Paramedics had to sedate and treat X Factor host Matthew Newton after the actor allegedly attacked his girlfriend Rachael Taylor in Rome.
Taylor suffered head injuries and had already sought a restraining order from the courts against Newton.
Reports say that Taylor screamed for help in Westin Excelsior hotel lobby during an "unprovoked violent assaults." Taylor claimed such incident occurred twice while she and the Australian actor were on vacation in Rome.
The Transformers star then flew to Los Angeles where she contacted her barrister in Sydney to apply for an intervention order against Matthew Newton.
In a statement, Taylor said she applied for the intervention against Mathew Newton because she had "significant fears for her personal safety, well-being and security" following what she described as "a series of gravely serious incidents,"
"I have made this personal decision to send a clear public message that violence, threats, abuse and intimidation are not acceptable and should be dealt with by the full capacity of the law," Taylor added.
