When Miley Cyrus does anything it becomes news. No we are not saying she just did "anything," but the 20-year-old Hannah Montana good girl stripped naked for her "Wrecking Ball" music video.

Oh and we are not talking about MTV Music video awards at all. But what's the big deal? Many pop stars including Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Rihanna and even Robbie Williams have donned their body suits in their music videos? So why target Miley alone?

Miley's latest music video received some 19 million views in its first 24 hours beating out One Direction's chart topper "Best Song Ever." It created a You Tube record just after a day of its premiere.

So did Miley get her inspiration from her idol, Britney Spears, who also bared all in 2008 music video "Womaniser?" The video showed flashes of the singer lying naked while gyrating to the music.

Katy Perry also stripped down in her 2010 "California Gurls" music video but she strategically covered herself with pink clouds and candies. Heidi Klum and her ex-husband Seal too posed naked in "Secret."

Australian singer Gotye bared all in "Somebody That I Used To Know" where he is painted with colorful shapes, standing still. The video also showed Kimbra getting naked as she is removed of her geometric paint in the single that topped the charts in 2011.

Alanis Moressette's music video of "Thank You" shows her standing naked in the streets with her breasts covered only by her hair. In the 2002 music video the singer takes public transportation and goes grocery shopping wearing nothing.

And who can forget Lady Gaga when it comes to nudity. The singer has left nothing to imagination of her viewers in some of the Terry Richardson (the same person who has directed Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball") photo shoots. But yes, Gaga bared all in "Love Game" music video and is seen grabbing her crotch and dancing!

Rihanna too showed a lot of skin in the music video of "Stay" and is seen lying naked in the bath tub while crooning to the song, though she too covers herself in water to quite an extent.

And if you want to talk about boys, don't you remember the famous Robbie Williams song "Rock DJ" where he famously removes his underwear and dances to the tunes of his number. King of pop Michael Jackson too shot some intimate scenes professing his love with Lisa-Marie Presley.

The stars have been on "bare it all" ambition, but it looks like everyone wants to talk about only Miley. Is it because of the strong presence of social media as the stars today themselves go ahead and post the videos on Twitter urging their fans to watch it on You Tube to "wreck the record?"

What Miley has is the power of social media and maximum reach to her fans, which was not present during the times of Britney and Michael Jackson. So enjoy the phase as it lasts.
